Our Music
Music is the second of the two pillars of our Day Program. Under the guidance and direction of certified music therapists, the music program seeks to operate on the principle that "anyone is a musician". As a result the participants have released 2 CD's of original music in collaboration
with local non disabled musicians and performed at numerous functions.
A morning "jam" happens at the Bethel Baptist church, Friday mornings
from 10:00 to noon.
Our CD's
ScAcL - A collection of original songs written and performed by participants in the Sunshine Coast Association for Community Living (SCACL) music therapy program. Some of the songs took months to complete, while others were improvised in one take. Based on their life experience, participants have used music and lyrics to express their ideas, opinions, dreams and raw emotions. Guest musicians from the local community have been invited to participate in the recording. The goal of the SCACL music therapy program is to use music to provide opportunities for each participant to reach his/her potential.
Songs are in MP3 format and so will play on most PC's.
